CARROLLWOOD — There’s a certain ‘Welcome (I wish this was my) home’ feel that comes with walking into Picture Perfect Kitchen Designs’ new Carrollwood storefront.
That’s the point, of course, considering the business’s business is upgrading home interiors.
Amanda Lopez has been able to show off all these features – the induction and gas ranges, the integrated refrigerator and freezer units, the cabinetry – with virtual tours for years, but continued growth called for a physical expansion.
“This lets us meet with the community and be able to engage when they come in the shop,” Lopez said of opening a storefront for the company she founded 10 years ago. The owner was speaking during a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony last Thursday that was hosted in coordination with the Carrollwood Area Business Association.
Unlike many formal grand opening celebrations, the Sept. 15 event came on Day 1 for Picture Perfect Kitchen Designs.
“It’s exciting,” Lopez said. “We’re all here, everyone’s shopping and having a good time. It feels great.”
Lopez, a kitchen designer for 20 years, founded Picture Perfect Kitchen Designs in 2012 after previously working with private firms. Over the past decade, the business grew to the point where a three-workstation setup at home couldn’t quite support the load of 60-70 concurrent projects the business handles at locations both local and nationwide.
Picture Perfect Kitchen Designs opened with a staff of eight, Lopez said, and the brick-and-mortar storefront provides new opportunities for the business.
“This is where our clients can touch and feel the cabinetry, they can see the finishes, they can open up and see the roll out trays inside,” Lopez said while giving a tour of the working demo kitchen, noting that the company specializes in both kitchen and bathroom design.
Beyond the kitchen space, which includes a variety of other retail offerings, is the design studio. Here, clients can virtually piece together their new kitchen or bathroom item by item, material by material.
Picture Perfect Kitchen Designs’ new home is located at 4524 W. Village Drive, just east of Carrollwood Village Park, occupying the former space of Daniel George Salon. Lopez lives in Carrollwood with her husband, Gerson, and two children. Location was key, she said.
“It was a huge deal for me,” Lopez said. “We wanted to be in close proximity to the kids’ schools and we wanted to engage with the community and do fun things with the business, like holding events and fundraisers.”
The Picture Perfect Kitchen Designs storefront is open Tuesday through Saturday and its products and services can be viewed online at www.PicturePerfectKitchenDesigns.com. Call 813-269-7518 for more information.
